Endodontic Treatment of An Abnormal Maxillary Left Second Premolar.

Abstract
A 23-year-old Korean woman presented with dull pain when biting, hypersensitivity when contacting with cold water and increased dull pain when contacting with hot water on the maxillary left second premolar. The tooth had abnormal cusps on the distal surface and the buocal surface of the crown. By the conventional endodontic treatment, the tooth was treated. The author obtained the following results.
1. The abnormal cuse on the distal surface is thought to arise as a result of the fusion bet¡©wean a supernumerary tooth and normal maxillary left second premolai.
2. The abnormal cusp on the buccal surface is thought to arise as a result of the evagination of inner enamel epithelium.
3. The canal of the abnormal cusp on the distal surface is completely separated from the main canal.
4. The tooth functioned normally after conventional endodontic treatment.
